Blythedale Children’s Hospital & Kohls Eat Well, Be Well Program, The Food Bank for Westchester, and The Mt Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry are piloting a food nudging program to help clients identify healthier food options. Through the utilization of bilingual signage, posters and supportive materials, the organizations hope to show simple, low-cost methods can facilitate the choice of healthier options for clients when selecting food items both inside and outside the pantry. Signage will be hung in front of low sodium, low sugar, high fiber, whole grain and other health-promoting options.
After the pilot evaluation, the nudge program is scheduled to roll out into other ‘choice’ pantries throughout the county.
Funding for the program is provided by Blythedale Children’s Hospital & Kohls Eat Well, Be Well Program.
