Colm MacMahon
Colm MacMahon is an accomplished educational leader with over two decades of experience in independent schools. Since 2015, he has served as Head of School at Rippowam Cisqua School in Bedford, NY, where he oversees a team of more than 100 employees and leads all aspects of school operations. A visionary fundraiser and strategist, he has raised over $50 million in capital and annual giving, led the unification of two campuses, and presided over a $35 million construction and renovation project. His tenure includes spearheading the school’s rebranding and mission rewrite, enhancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) initiatives, and establishing a campus-wide culture of innovation, including the launch of a 2,500-square-foot Innovation Center.
Before Rippowam Cisqua, Colm held senior leadership roles at the School of the Holy Child and The Berkeley Carroll School, where he directed Upper School operations, academic programming, and admissions strategy. His career began at Marymount School of NYC, where he served in teaching, coaching, and administrative roles. In addition to his school-based leadership, he has served on multiple nonprofit boards and chaired NYSAIS accreditation teams. A strong believer in holistic education and community building, he continues to coach varsity girls soccer and remains deeply engaged in student life. Colm holds a master’s degree in Organization and Leadership from Columbia University’s Klingenstein Center and a bachelor’s degree in English from the College of the Holy Cross. Colm resides in Bedford Hills.
